Biaix del Supervivent
El nom públic i metafòric utilitzat en aquest lloc per descriure l'efecte de selecció existencial profund que assegura que els observadors només experimentin realitats altament ordenades i finament ajustades. Si existeixes, el teu univers *ha de* semblar estable.
L'Efecte de Selecció Formativa
El terme formal i tècnic per al Biaix del Supervivent dins del marc acadèmic de la Teoria dels Patches Ordenats. Distingeix la necessitat existencial d'observar un cosmos ordenat del simple biaix estadístic en l'agregació de dades quotidianes.
Còdec de Compressió
Una descripció estructural i abstracta de les regularitats estables observades dins d'un fragment. Les lleis de la natura (física, termodinàmica, biologia) no són "coses" que existeixen independentment, sinó que són les regles del còdec que comprimeixen amb èxit el caos infinit en una narrativa viable.
Pegat Ordenat
Un subespai informacional rar i altament estructurat que es manté temporalment contra el fons de soroll infinit. Cada observador conscient habita exactament un pegat ordenat, des del qual descodifica la seva realitat.
El Render
El món subjectiu i fenomenològic experimentat per l'observador (l'univers tal com el veus). És la sortida descodificada del còdec de compressió que prediu amb èxit el flux de dades en brut.
Filtre d'Estabilitat
El mecanisme matemàtic (formalitzat essencialment com la minimització de l'Energia Lliure) que permet només narratives causals coherents, contínues en el temps i de baixa entropia per sostenir l'experiència conscient. La resta del substrat infinit roman com a potencial no diferenciat.
Esperança Estructural
La implicació ètica i ontològica de la Teoria del Pegat Ordenat. Tot i que estàs aïllat en el teu propi pegat, la naturalesa combinatòria infinita del substrat garanteix que cada "altre" amb qui interactues també existeix com a observador primari ancorant el seu *propi* pegat paral·lel. Estàs epistemològicament aïllat, però ontològicament acompanyat.
Descomposició Narrativa
El procés pel qual el soroll incompressible (entropia) aclapara el còdec local. L'escalfament global, el col·lapse democràtic i el conflicte violent no són merament esdeveniments físics; són símptomes de la fractura del render perquè el soroll ha superat l'ample de banda de l'observador.
Active Inference
The continuous process by which the observer's boundary predicts incoming sensory data and corrects its internal model when predictions fail — spending energy to stay ahead of the chaos. Formalized by Karl Friston's Free Energy Principle, it is what Helmholtz called "unconscious inference" given thermodynamic teeth. In OPT, Active Inference is the mechanism by which the patch stays coherent: to stop predicting is to dissolve.
Render-on-Focus
The parsimony principle that high-resolution details do not "exist" in the observer's stream until actively demanded by attention or instrument. The atomic structure of a distant star, the bark on the back of a tree — these are not computed until the observer's focus requests them to maintain causal consistency. This keeps the informational cost of sustaining a cosmos near zero: the universe is largely an un-rendered abstraction except at the 50-bit focal point.
Markov Blanket
The statistical boundary separating an observer's internal states from the external substrate. Sensory states receive signals from outside; active states project outward; internal states are shielded by this surface from the raw noise of the substrate. Each Markov Blanket bounds exactly one primary observer. In OPT, the Markov Blanket is not a physical membrane but a mathematical boundary condition: the surface at which "inside" ends and "outside" begins.
Mathematical Saturation
The predicted asymptote where formal descriptions of physical phenomena at extremely high energy scales become as informationally complex as the phenomena themselves (maximum Kolmogorov complexity). Beyond this boundary, mathematical models do not converge to a single "true" equation — they proliferate. This is why OPT predicts that a Grand Unified Theory will remain out of reach: not because physics is weak, but because the grammar of the observer cannot fully describe the noise of the substrate beneath it. A single elegant parameter-free unification would falsify OPT.
Informational Normality
The foundational property of the infinite substrate: that it contains every possible finite pattern of information with non-zero frequency — analogous to a Borel-normal number in mathematics. This is not a speculative add-on; it follows from the definition of an infinite, maximally disordered field. Informational Normality is the mathematical ground of Structural Hope: it guarantees that every structural pattern of consciousness that has ever existed is anchored — in every detail — infinitely many times elsewhere in the substrate.
