Sesgo del Superviviente
El nombre público y metafórico utilizado en este sitio para describir el profundo efecto de selección existencial que asegura que los observadores solo experimenten realidades altamente ordenadas y finamente sintonizadas. Si existes, tu universo debe parecer estable.
El Efecto de Selección Formativa
El término formal y técnico para el Sesgo del Superviviente dentro del marco académico de la Teoría del Fragmento Ordenado. Distingue la necesidad existencial de observar un cosmos ordenado del mero sesgo estadístico en la agregación cotidiana de datos.
Códec de Compresión
Una descripción estructural y abstracta de las regularidades estables observadas dentro de un fragmento. Las leyes de la naturaleza (física, termodinámica, biología) no son 'cosas' que existen de forma independiente, sino las reglas del códec que comprimen con éxito el caos infinito en una narrativa viable.
Fragmento Ordenado
Un subespacio informacional raro y altamente estructurado, sostenido temporalmente contra el ruido infinito de fondo. Cada observador consciente habita exactamente un fragmento ordenado desde el que decodifica su realidad.
El Renderizado
El mundo subjetivo y fenomenológico experimentado por el observador (el universo tal como lo ves). Es la salida decodificada del códec de compresión que predice con éxito el flujo de datos brutos.
Filtro de Estabilidad
El mecanismo matemático (formalizado esencialmente como minimización de Energía Libre) que solo permite que las narrativas causales coherentes, continuas en el tiempo y de baja entropía sostengan la experiencia consciente. El resto del sustrato infinito permanece como potencial indiferenciado.
Esperanza Estructural
La implicación ética y ontológica de la Teoría del Fragmento Ordenado. Aunque estás aislado en tu propio fragmento, la naturaleza combinatoria infinita del sustrato garantiza que cada 'otro' con quien interactúas también existe como observador primario anclando su propio fragmento paralelo. Estás aislado epistémicamente, pero acompañado ontológicamente.
Decadencia Narrativa
El proceso por el cual el ruido incomprimible (entropía) supera al códec local. El calentamiento global, el colapso democrático y el conflicto violento no son meramente eventos físicos; son síntomas del fragmento fracturándose porque el ruido ha superado el ancho de banda del observador.
Active Inference
The continuous process by which the observer's boundary predicts incoming sensory data and corrects its internal model when predictions fail — spending energy to stay ahead of the chaos. Formalized by Karl Friston's Free Energy Principle, it is what Helmholtz called "unconscious inference" given thermodynamic teeth. In OPT, Active Inference is the mechanism by which the patch stays coherent: to stop predicting is to dissolve.
Render-on-Focus
The parsimony principle that high-resolution details do not "exist" in the observer's stream until actively demanded by attention or instrument. The atomic structure of a distant star, the bark on the back of a tree — these are not computed until the observer's focus requests them to maintain causal consistency. This keeps the informational cost of sustaining a cosmos near zero: the universe is largely an un-rendered abstraction except at the 50-bit focal point.
Markov Blanket
The statistical boundary separating an observer's internal states from the external substrate. Sensory states receive signals from outside; active states project outward; internal states are shielded by this surface from the raw noise of the substrate. Each Markov Blanket bounds exactly one primary observer. In OPT, the Markov Blanket is not a physical membrane but a mathematical boundary condition: the surface at which "inside" ends and "outside" begins.
Mathematical Saturation
The predicted asymptote where formal descriptions of physical phenomena at extremely high energy scales become as informationally complex as the phenomena themselves (maximum Kolmogorov complexity). Beyond this boundary, mathematical models do not converge to a single "true" equation — they proliferate. This is why OPT predicts that a Grand Unified Theory will remain out of reach: not because physics is weak, but because the grammar of the observer cannot fully describe the noise of the substrate beneath it. A single elegant parameter-free unification would falsify OPT.
Informational Normality
The foundational property of the infinite substrate: that it contains every possible finite pattern of information with non-zero frequency — analogous to a Borel-normal number in mathematics. This is not a speculative add-on; it follows from the definition of an infinite, maximally disordered field. Informational Normality is the mathematical ground of Structural Hope: it guarantees that every structural pattern of consciousness that has ever existed is anchored — in every detail — infinitely many times elsewhere in the substrate.
